Whew.. that was something.. packing, cleaning, throwing out unwanted stuff.. et al. Just when I blinked, it was time to leave Mumbai and head to Chennai.
Mumbai had gotten the better out of me, with its style and night life. The city is bad but gets you addicted. You dont like the city, you complain but when it comes to leaving the place, it s like getting a hole in your head. Everyday is hectic but at the end of it, you feel satisfied. That s what is Mumbai for you.
Even a madisar maami who stays in Mumbai for an year will become the modern maami. They cant help changing themselves.
I miss the vada pavs, the pav bhajis and the roadside bhel stalls. Eating on the roadside is a second nature to Mumbaikars. The crowded trains and the even more crowded stations make you hold your head high..(else you cant breathe...:-)
The marine drive, gateway of India, fashion street, crawford market reflect the British period in India. You can even smell the British Raj when you move around in these areas.
The multiplexes, the huge shopping malls make your Sundays worthwhile.
Given a chance, I would be tempted to go back to Mumbai... on second thoughts, I dont think I can. It s too much relocating twice in the same year.. he he...May be a few years down the line I can consider that.
Cheers Folks !!!
